TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY PORTUGAL
I spent a week on the Portuguese island of Madeira this August. In just under four hours by plane from Hamburg you can reach this small paradise island in the middle of the Atlantic. The island has a lot to offer in terms of landscape. A coastline with high cliffs, a rough ocean and a very green and dramatic mountain landscape make the travel photographer a lot of fun. Only equipped with the small Fuji EX-3, a 23mm lens, an ND filter and a mini tripod, I set off to explore the island for a week. A rental car is compulsory on the island, because through the very hilly landscape, the road network consists of very many, sometimes very impressive tunnels and many hiking trails and places are very remote and are virtually impossible to reach without a car.

The beautiful and idyllic little coastal village Jardim do Mar with its small streets.

The small coastal town of Ribeira Brava on the south coast with pretty houses, ruins and delicious Portuguese delicacies.
